Working with Pam
When we work together, we will discuss your life, the challenges you face, your history, the dreams you are calling forth. We will also begin to understand how you relate to the world and how you find meaning in your unique experience of life. We ask questions like: how is my internal landscape reflected in the rhythms of the world around me? How can my curiosity and imagination reveal new solutions?
We work on:
awakening our senses and bodies (somatics and movement)
developing trust that our symptoms lead us towards greater understanding (trauma, shadow, inner child work)
use mindfulness to practice presence and develop our inner witness
rekindling our creativity and imagination
learning how to care for our nervous systems with Breathwork, EMDR and Mindfulness
living harmoniously with the rhythms of the Earth
accepting our experience with curiosity and compassion
We widen our perspective by investigating our inner rhythms and the larger systems we are tied to. The hope is that in time, we will uncover a vision of self that is liberated from separateness and enchanted by a sacred world. This shift in consciousness naturally expands your capacity to withstand the pain of life, celebrate the joy of being and relate to others with compassion and deep-rooted authenticity.
We work with a variety of tools that support your capacity to unwind trauma and mature into your full humanity. We might employ tools like Breathwork (ancient practices for nervous system reset and regulation), EMDR (focused trauma reprocessing), and sensuous nature-based awareness for tending the nervous system. We might also use Dreamwork (for encountering shadow and meeting the unknown) and Wild Mind (IFS relative) for helping you grow into your fullest, most authentic self.
If you are open to it, we will also have the opportunity to be outside when our work calls for it. Modern science supports the value of nature-based modalities to build resilience against stress, increase immune response, restore attention capacity and decrease anxiety, depression and adhd. Inviting a deeper connection to the world is valuable for creative and sensitive people, high functioning adults who would like to develop clarity, kids and teens (adhd, climate anxiety, apathy) and people struggling with depression and dissociation. For those processing trauma, co-regulation with the Earth and bilateral stimulation from walking and talking can be great ways regulate the nervous system while processing difficult events.
